Zen artist -Yi-Xiong Gu
YiXiong, a current famous Zen Lay Buddhist, loves to discuss philosophy, and his favorite is calligraphy and painting. His paintings integrate with beautiful Western theory. His specialty in style of painting is a blend of Western and Chinese aesthetic principles. His paintings are simple, clear, straightforward and vast and pristine beauty. They contain the beauty of “real & simple”, perhaps because he was born next to the Yellow River. He has the characters what Great North Westerner’s should have: strong, generous and real. Within the Chinese painting continental, his digs a new path and has a different character. He is the front-line inventor and pioneer of the current traditional painting . I wish YiXiong to continue to work hard and climb up to the peak of Art! And success!
